Lil Wayne Meets with Donald Trump

Lil Wayne is giving Donald Trump his endorsement.
Just days before the presidential election, the Young Money rapper had a meeting with the President to discuss criminal reform during a campaign stop in Florida. Wayne shared a photo of him and Trump giving the thumbs up while standing in front of American flags.
“Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership,” tweeted Tunechi. “He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.”

While it’s unclear if he will be voting for Trump on Election Day, he revealed that they discussed Trump’s Platinum Plan, which aims to increase access to capital in Black communities by almost $500 billion.
Ice Cube was also contacted by the Trump Administration to incorporate his Contract With Black America into the Platinum Plan.
Wayne received backlash on social media from disappointed fans who criticized his decision to meet with Trump. “For the very first time in my life, Wayne disappointed me,” tweeted one fan, while another asked, “Just how big IS the sunken place?”

This is not the first time Wayne has stirred controversy for his political views. In 2016, he denounced the Black Lives Matter movement and earlier this year, he questioned the activism in the wake of George Floyd’s murder while sympathizing with law enforcement.
Other rappers including Lil Pump and 50 Cent have endorsed Trump over Joe Biden in recent weeks, however, 50 later retracted his support.
