The Weeknd, Roddy Ricch Lead American Music Awards Nominations

The Weeknd and Roddy Ricch lead the nominations for the 2020 American Music Awards.

After dominating the charts all year long, the singer and rapper cap off 2020 with eight nominations each including the night’s most coveted award, Artist of the Year.

First-time nominee Megan Thee Stallion scored five nominations, becoming the most nominated female artist this year, including nods in the New Artist of the Year and Collaboration of the Year categories.

Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift all earned four nominations each, along with first-time nominees DaBaby and Doja Cat.

In the Artist of the Year category, nominees include Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Roddy Ricch, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd, while Lil Baby (My Turn), Lil Uzi Vert (Eternal Atake), and Roddy Ricch (Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial) will compete for Favorite Album (Rap/Hip-Hop).

For the first time, the AMAs have introduced new categories for Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Female Artist (Rap/Hip-Hop), as well as Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Female, Favorite Album, and Favorite Song (Latin).

Voting is now open for all AMA categories. Winners will be announced during the 2020 American Music Awards, which will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
