[WATCH] Man Attacks Las Vegas Judge During Sentencing

Footage from a Nevada court proceeding shows a man attcacking a female judge after she denies his lawyer’s request for probation.

30-year-old Deobra Delone Redden jumped over the judge’s podium to attack Judge Mary Kay Holthus on Wednesday(January 3) after Judge Holthus denied his probation request during his aggravated battery with substantial bodily harm sentencing hearing. Due to Redden’s criminal history, the judge said that he needed to ne put behind bars.

The Las Vegas District Zcourt issued a statement about the incident saying, “We commend the heroic acts of her staff, law enforcement, and all others who subdued the defendant. The court remains committed to a safe and secure courthouse and courtrooms. We are reviewing all our protocols and will do whatever is necessary to protect the judiciary, the public, and our employees.”
