Gucci Mane Pays Tribute to Young Dolph on ‘Long Live Dolph’

R.I.P. Flippa.

A month after Young Dolph’s passing, Gucci Mane pays tribute to his late friend on “Long Live Dolph” off his new mixtape So Icy Christmas. Over a trap beat from Zaytoven and Metro Boomin, a heartbroken Guwop reflects on the devastating loss.

“Hurt me inside, I can’t hide it / It’s hard to hide / Being a trap rapper, it’s a miracle if you survive / Every day I pray and thank the Lord that I’m still alive,” he raps.

He also celebrates Dolph’s legacy: “When it comes to legends, Dolph forever in my top 5 / Real life street ni**a, never had to tell lies.”

“Long Live Dolph” closes out the So Icy Christmas compilation, which also features holiday trap bangers from Gucci, with contributions from HotBoy Wes, Big Scarr, and Enchanting.

On Thursday, Dolph’s family and friends gathered to honor him in Memphis at his “Celebration of Life” memorial service, which included tributes from Gucci, 2 Chainz, T.I., Juicy J, 8Ball & MJG, and Gangsta Boo.

Dolph, 36, was shot and killed in his hometown on Nov. 17. An investigation into his murder is underway and there are no solid suspects so far.
