The Source |Sha’Carri Richardson Set To Compete At Prefontaine Classic

[ad_1]

Sha’Carri Richardson will be back on the track sooner than later! The 21-year-old will compete in the Prefontaine Classic as the third-fastest woman in 2021 and the sixth-fastest woman in history. Earlier this summer Richardson missed the Tokyo Olympics and had her U.S. Trials results disqualified after testing positive for THC. She later revealed that she used marijuana to help cope with the loss of her mother.

The Wall Street Journal reports, Richardson is confirmed to compete in the Prefontaine Classic’s 100- and 200-meter races.

“Sha’Carri is focused on running a good race since she last competed at the US Olympic Trials,” Renaldo Nehemiah, Richardson’s agent, told the Journal. “She will be focused on executing her race to the best of her ability regardless of who is in the race.”

The 21-year-old is set to face Jamaica’s 100m Olympic medalists: Elaine Thompson-HerahShelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Shericka Jackson. Scheduled for Friday, August 20, and Saturday, August 21, the events will be held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
