Seattle Seahawks Lineman Chad Wheeler Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

Chad Wheeler, a backup offensive tackle for the Seattle Seahawks, was arrested this past Saturday morning for domestic violence and assault.
The Seattle Times states the 27-year-old football player was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. A police report states officers responded to the address in Kent, Washington where the woman was screaming. Police forced themselves into the apartment where Wheeler was located standing next to the victim.
The report states Wheeler was “uncooperative” when the officers attempted to arrest him.
The woman called the police on Wheeler after he strangled her unconscious. When he awoke, Wheeler stated “Wow you’re alive?” prompting her to flee into the bathroom where she called the police. The police report also states Wheeler is listed as 6-foot-7 and 310 pounds on the report and the victim is 5-9 and 145 pounds. Additional details include Wheeler not taking his bi-polar medication recently.
The Seahawks released the following statement: “We are aware of the situation and still gathering information.” Wheeler is being held at King County Jail for a $400,000 bail.
