Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots have agreed to part ways, ending a 24-season run with six Super Bowl wins.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed the news following a series of meetings between Belichick and Patriots owner Robert Kraft. According to Shefter, the meetings had no conflicts or disagreements, resulting in a mutual decision.
Belichick’s exit follows a changing of coaching guard across all football, including the retirement of his friend Nick Caban and the transition of former Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll.
During Belichick’s run in New England, he amassed 333 career victories, 17 division titles, nine conference championships, and 12 Super Bowl appearances, and he has one of four undefeated seasons in NFL history.
