Megan Thee Stallion Slams ‘Greedy Ass Men’ After Label Lawsuit

Megan Thee Stallion’s record label drama continues.
1501 Certified Entertainment is suing the Houston rapper, alleging that her last project, Something for Thee Hotties, wasn’t actually an album and doesn’t fulfill her contract.
In a countersuit, filed Monday and obtained by TMZ, 1501 contests that Something for Thee Hotties, released in October, was a compilation of previously-released material. Back in February, Megan sued 1501 to declare that she had fulfilled her contract.
The label says the project is “made up of 21 recordings and includes spoken interlude recordings on which MTS does not appear as well as several previously-released recordings.” 1501 argues that the 45-minute-long project only contains 29 minutes of new material, not enough to qualify as an album under her deal.
According to 1501, Megan is aware that any album she makes must include at least 12 “new master recordings of studio performances” that are previously unreleased. 1501 also claims to have approval of any music, which apparently didn’t happen with Something for Thee Hotties.
Following the countersuit, Megan slammed 1501 and its founder, Carl Crawford, suggesting its all an attempt to keep her on the label.
“First the man over my label said I don’t make him any money … now he counter suing trying to keep me on his label because he wants to make more money lol if I ain’t making you no money why not just drop me?” she wrote.
She says her lawyers asked Crawford for an expense report and he listed his jewelry and chains. “Lord free me from this joke ass label,” she added while calling out the “greedy ass men.”

If a judge declares that Something for Thee Hotties doesn’t count as an album under her contract, Megan would owe the label two more albums.
1501 is also seeking a full accounting of what Megan has earned from “collaborations, sponsorships, endorsements, and side engagements,” and wants a cut of that revenue, which it believes exceeds $1 million.
Earlier this month, Megan released her new single “Sweetest Pie” featuring Dua Lipa, which debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100.
