Drake Reacts to His Placement on Hip-Hop’s Highest-Paid Artists List

Drake is feeling some type of way about his estimated earnings.
The rapper has reacted to his ranking on a new list of hip-hop’s highest-paid artists. The 2021 ranking, which was revealed earlier this week, places the Certified Lover Boy fourth with an estimated pre-tax income of $50 million.
But Drake seemingly disagrees with the assessment. He responded to the “hip-hop power players” headline with the laughing face emoji, insinuating that they got it wrong and his 2021 income exceeded the $50 mill.
JAY-Z landed atop the 2021 list of hip-hop’s top earners with $450 million, followed by Kanye West with $250 million. Drake was one spot below Diddy, whose earnings were $75 million.
The list, which was compiled by former Forbes editor and “Hip-Hop Cash Kings” list creator Zack O’Malley Greenburg, measures pre-tax income for calendar year 2021 before deducting fees for agents, managers, lawyers, and living expenses.
Money is clearly not a thing for Drake, who recently bet over $1.25 million in Bitcoin on the Super Bowl. Earlier this week, he announced a partnership with crypto betting platform Stake. Fans will have a chance to win money and play alongside the rapper during upcoming livestreams.
