The Real may be coming back sooner than you think.

J. Cole is reportedly planning to drop his new mixtape The Off-Season in the next two weeks. On Wednesday, his fellow Dreamville member Bas posted a photo of Cole in the studio, but it was his caption that really had fans talking.

“The Off-Season. pack your bags. in two weeks,” he wrote along with three exploding-head emojis.

The Instagram post was later deleted, but not before fans took a screenshot and reposted it. If it holds true, that would put the release on or around May 14. Cole has not addressed the potential release date.

Back in December, Cole revealed that his next project would be The Off-Season, followed by It’s a Boy and his long-awaited album The Fall Off.

The father of two also seemed to hint at retirement in his future. “I still got some goals I gotta check off for’ I scram,” he wrote.

J. Cole hasn’t released a solo project since 2018’s KOD. Last summer, he dropped a pair of singles, “The Climb Back” and “Lion King on Ice,” along with the politically-charged track “Snow on Tha Bluff.”
