The introspective song and video come on the heels of Chance sharing a slew of comedic sketches and performances from his new music and film studio in Chicago, The House of Kicks. “The Heart & The Tongue” video was filmed at this creative playground which has become home to Chance creating an artistic pod where he is reimagining music, film and virtual experiences. The House of Kicks was recently featured last month in the Facebook Watch event, “Forward: The #FutureofBlackMusic with Taylor Bennett.

“I’m proud to be releasing new music again and even prouder to be honing my film skills, and getting better behind the camera,” said Chance the Rapper.

Recently featured on the cover of ADWEEK, Chance has been busy in quarantine, not only collaborating with Justin Bieber and supporting the community with his nonprofit SocialWorks, but also performing 11 innovative virtual concerts which he filmed himself. These performances have redefined what it means to experience music remotely, with Chance saying, “My favorite thing in the world is performing—but I do really think that virtual concerts are the future.”
