Watch The Weeknd’s ‘Save Your Tears’ Video

Nearly one year since the release of his album After Hours, The Weeknd continues to bring the saga to life.

The XO crooner starts off the year with the dark and twisted video for another one of the album’s standout tracks, “Save Your Tears.” Dressed in a sequined red blazer, he performs at a masquerade party while revealing his disfigured face after being decapitated in the “Too Late” video.

During his strange performance, a mentally unstable Abel sprays champagne on the crowd, dances on top of tables, and throws an ice bucket. At one point, he dances with a maskless partygoer onstage and makes her point a gun at his head. For the intense finale, he turns the gun on himself as the crowd gasps.

“Save Your Tears” is the latest visual in The Weeknd’s After Hours series and follows “Too Late,” “Until I Bleed Out,” and “In Your Eyes.”

He is already hard at work on his next album, inspired by the events of the past year. “I have been more inspired and creative during the pandemic than I might normally be while on the road,” he told TMRW. “The pandemic, the Black Lives Matter movement and the tensions of the election have mostly created a sense of gratitude for what I have and closeness with the people near me.”

On Feb. 7, he will perform for his largest audience yet during the 2021 Super Bowl Halftime Show in Tampa, Fla.
